The Vatican is as beautiful as they say it is. The whole structure immerses you into art from classical to present day. It breathes culture and life. You can walk around for months and you still not taken in every piece of art there is. One important lesson that I learned from our medical student TA, JD Eyck, is that you do not have to look at every piece of art in a museum. When you try to do this you truly do not get a connection with a piece of work. Sometimes just sitting a one piece of painting that you connect with emotionally gives you more of a personal experience than aimlessly wandering around an entire museum. I never thought of it that way but now I slow down and taken in those moments with art and life itself.
